Forrester, founded in 1983, is one of the longer standing analyst firms. Its know for its Forrester Wave, a graphic that illustrates competing products and services, in addition to research based insights, models, and frameworks.

Gartner is the most dominant analyst firm in the IT space and was founded by Gideon Gartner in 1979. Gartner is famous for its "Magic Quadrant," a visual graphic that positions competing players in the major technology markets.

With their Buyer Guides, Vendr provides a comprehensive collection of software pricing data and insights. Provided for subscribers are TSKU-level pricing benchmarks, in addition to access to a software community of other buyers.
